QUESTION: How do I connect the chain once I replace this part? by Mike L 5/15/2014
ANSWER: The chain has a special link in it which automatically clips into the carriage assembly when the chain is moved by the motor or when you raise the door manually so far you will see the carriage assembly click into the link. This all depends on the position of the special link in the chain and at what point the door quit working. This is why you have the release rope. It releases the carriage assembly from the chain. When you pull on the rope you will see the carriage assembly release from the special link. Then you can raise or lower the door manually. Hope this helps. by Thomas N a
ANSWER: I don't know yet because I haven't changed it out yet by Michael S a
ANSWER: The best way is to loosen the pulley as much as possible on the other end of the door opener the part that is attached to the wall. Then reattach the chain around the pulley. Then slowly adjust tension on the pulley so that the chain is tight again. There is a master link in the chain also. The master link will have to be removed in order to get the carriage assembly around the chain. by Zachery K a

ANSWER: the one i hade broke just lifting the door one day na binding or jarring just snapped as far as instlling goes its just the same as putting the door opener together the first time easy as pie drop the opener remove the chain take the caraige off put new one on replace chain rehang opener reset limits your done it was more work to find the part than to do the job by lorne h a
ANSWER: It wasn't difficult. Make sure that the travel distance is set correctly so that it isn't hitting to stop and that should keep it from breaking again. The most difficult part is dealing with the chain to put the new part on. by J A a
