ANSWER: This unit is very nice and will not affect the use of your smart phone Assure Link opner smartphone control kit. The kit is directly linked to the opening unit and this will not affect that function. I installed this as a second unit. I built on addition with a second access to the garage door and put this in on that door so I did not have to cross the garage, and my use of my phone to open close and check on the door was not affected, as mentioned the remote control kit interfaces directly with the actual garage door unit. not the wall controller. by R O a
