North Shore Commercial Door now has the MagicSwitch 10MS08U touchless activation sensor that utilizes microwave motion technology and the Doppler Radar effect. This Doppler Radar effect emits a signal that, when reflected by a moving object (i.e. a hand, cart, wheelchair, etc.), activates the door. This touchless feature greatly reduces the spread of bacteria commonly found on push plates requiring a physical touch for activation. The 10MS08U touchless activation sensor from BEA can be used in clean rooms, healthcare facilities, food processing plants, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities and other sterile environments desiring a safer way to activate doors without spreading germs. The 10MS08U is also convenient and comfortable for disabled people. The beveled, low profile design of the 10MS08U helps reduce wear and tear caused by carts and other objects that may come into contact with the sensor. A water-resistant foam gasket and sleek profile provide increased reliability when exposed to water or cleaning products while minimizing dust. The microwave cell can be hidden from view by installing behind non-metallic surfaces (i.e. mounted behind drywall). The 10MS08U also offers variable adjustment of detection zone from 4-24 inches and can be configured for "pulse" or "toggle" use.

The 10MS08U comes with both single gang & double gang faceplates with "Wave to Open" text and artwork.
