Choosing your Liftmaster / Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Remote:

Finding a compatible transmitter for your garage door use to be very confusing. Now the easiest way of finding the remote your garage door opener is to identify if the garage door opener has a learn button on the logic board. This is on the back or side of the motor unit of your garage door. If it has a learn button order the 890MAX Keychain Remote, 893MAX 3-button Visor Remote, or 895MAX Deluxe Visor Remote as a direct replacement.

The learn button will be a square button near the center of your Liftmaster logic board. If you have an older model Liftmaster garage door opener, then there will be a set of dip switches that are used to program your opener instead of a learn button. Liftmaster Commercial garage Door Openers or gate openers might be located differently. Below you will find a reference for the different models of Chamberlain Liftmaster garage door remotes:

Amber - Security Plus (no ERT)

Purple - Security Plus (with ERT)

Green - Rolling Code

None - Dip Switch
