The EMX OWL from North Shore Commercial Door is a two-in-one vehicle motion sensor and pedestrian presence sensor that uses infrared technology and microwave technology to act as an activation sensor for garage doors, gates, and other barriers. The OWL is designed for easy programming and customization of the detection zones with the OWL-RC Remote Control.
The remote control is required for installing and setting up this vehicle motion sensor. The OWL distinguishes between vehicle detection, pedestrians, cross traffic, and has a highly customizable infrared presence detection zone so it can be used as both access control and a security system in a wide variety of pedestrian and vehicle detection applications. The microwave motion sensor is for vehicle detection and has a maximum sensing area of 23 ft. x 19 ft. wide at a 21 ft. mounting height. The infrared sensor is for detecting pedestrians and has a maximum detection area of 18 ft. long x 26 ft. wide at a 21 ft. mounting height. The OWL’s pedestrian detection utilizes a pair of highly customizable infrared LED arrays that keeps people and vehicles safe from unintentional door closings in commercial and residential environments.
