QUESTION: Do these kits contain two cables for two springs? The pictures show two cables, but the description says one item. Thank you. by Harvey F 5/24/2015
ANSWER: Harvey,
Yes, the kit contains 2 cables for 2 springs. I had never installed anything like this before but this installation was fairly straight forward. I used the premade loop end of the cable to attach to the angle iron bracket on the uppernear the garage ceiling end of the spring. Then the cable end with the flat metal brackets attached were fastened under one of the big lag bolts that attached the garage door rail to the frame of the garage. I adjusted the tension on the cable just enough so that the cable rides thru the middle of the door lift spring as I open and close the garage door. It has worked now for one year with no problem. The purchased cable and brackets seem to be very high quality that I bought from North Shore company.
Hope this helps.
Darrol L by Darrol L a
