LiftMaster L50 Large Profile Custom Length Sensing Edge Kit

North Shore Commercial Door knows that gates come in all shapes and sizes. A completely assembled safety edge in a predetermined length may not cut it when it comes to each gate. Sometimes you need a shorter edge, and sometimes a longer length is needed. LiftMaster has created a solution that can fit any gate. The L50 Custom Length Safety Edge kit comes with everything customers would need to fit an edge to their application, and the best part of it? This kit can be assembled in the field! When the UL325 2016 update came out, the new standards demanded that gate operators have at least two forms of entrapment detection. One form needs to be located at the gates resting position as well as the gates open position. These can solutions can come in the form of safety beams, safety edges, and more! Safety Edges are a great solution because they can be installed vertically on the gates face, or along the bottom. The L50 kit is comprised of three components: an 82 Foot roll of the large profile edge, 10 pack of L50E End Cap pairs (one wired, one non-wired end cap), and a pack of retainers. The retainers come in two different styles: 10 foot Aluminum and 8 foot Plastic (PVC). The Aluminum retainers come in a pack of 8, and the Plastic (PVC) channels come in a pack of 10. The retainer that comes with the kit is determined by a drop down box that must be determined at the time of purchase. Once the profile is cut to the exact length needed for the gate, the edge assembles quite easily. The contact plugs that come with the end caps fit into resistive portion of the profile. The edge caps get placed over the end of the edge and secured in place using the clips that come with it. The wired end cap comes with 39 inches of cable (2-wire) allowing the sensing edge to be either hardwired to the operator, or to be used with LiftMaster’s LMWEKITU Monitored Wireless Safety Edge Kit.
