QUESTION: My door is 7' 4" tall. should I buy the drive belt for the 7' or the 8' door? by None N 10/18/2013
ANSWER: Mine took the 8' belt; 41A5250-1 Full Belt Assembly For 8' Garage door. Then I had to remove 2". <br />End with hole for "bicycle chain" style master link is easy to spread apart and press back together with hand tools after shortening belt. *I found it very important to put old and new belt side-by-side on floor for exact measurement.* by GARY W a
ANSWER: Door height 7' vs 7'4" isn't as important as garage door opener rail length which is based on model #. The belt foor a 7' door fits a rail approxiamtely 10' +/- an inch or so - hard to get exact measure from wall end pulley center to pulley center on opener. hope this helps. I've bought 2 of these belts for my 7' doors. made the mistake of buying 8' door belt 1st time and shortened it to make it work which is a pain - but it worked for me. 2nd door got the correct 7' belt and it fit perfectly. Check rail length or ck out your belt part # in your manual to get correct length the 1st time. Hope this helps. by S T a
