When a garage door spring breaks it causes problems for everyone who uses the garage door. When it breaks on a One-piece garage door E900-R (commonly called a California knee Knocker Door) it endangers the user every time it is opened. To help keep you and your loved ones safe North Shore Commercial Door has done the leg work for you! Our listing for the Plug-End series of springs has every option you could need to get your door up and running again! The Plug-End series of spring is a type of extension spring that has specialty ends on them. Used with the E900-R Single-Panel Garage Door Hardware Kit, these springs mount on each side of the door and provides the user with additional force which creates ease-of-operation. Please note that it is recommended that you purchase replacement hooks to go with your new springs. Each spring requires two hooks, If you have a single spring on each side you need the 97509800 C-Hook. If you have two springs on each side you need to purchase the CW15 W-Hook. HOW TO IDENTIFY YOUR SPRING SIZE:
When purchasing replacement springs it is recommended that you use the number on your label to determine the specifics. Each part number determines the style, wire size, and length of a spring. For Example, let’s look at the P928 spring. Think of the part number as P-9-28. The Letter determines the type of spring, so in this case it means a “Plug-End”. “9” determines the wire size, for this example that would be “.148” or 9-gauge wire”. “28” refers to the length of the spring, which is 28 inches. All these factors put together tell us that P928 is a 28 inch plug-end spring made from 9-gauge wire. WHAT IF MY SPRING DOESN’T HAVE A LABEL?
If your spring doesn’t have a label you can still order the correct spring by determining the outside diameter of the spring, as well as the wire size. To get the outside diameter, place a tape measure across the broken portion of the spring. Wire size can be calculated by measuring 10 coils, then dividing this number by 10. All that’s left after that is to visually match up the spring end. PLEASE SELECT ON OF THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS FROM THE DROP DOWN ABOVE:
