The PowerMaster Model “J” Industrial Duty Jackshaft type operator is for use on Grilles, Standard Lift Sectional Doors, and Rolling Service Doors. Each reduction shaft is a minimum of 1” in diameter and is supported by bronze oilite bearings. The primary reduction is by the heavy duty VBelt Drive. Secondary reduction is by the chain and sprocket arrangement. Reduction stages are arranged so that the mechanism is self locking when the torque is applied at the output shaft. The operator is supplied with an adjustable torque limiting clutch.
The Model "J" motor is a continuous duty industrial type, high starting torque, and is protected from overload by a current sensing or thermal type overload device. The motor controller is a heavy duty, across the line, full voltage, magnetic reversing contractor that is electrically and mechanically interlocked. The electrical components installed in a NEMA 1 enclosure integral to the operator. A transformer is supplied to limit control voltage to 24 VAC. Individual terminal strips are given for connection of the power supply line and all control devices. The operator is wired for an open/close/stop control station.
Its control circuit provides immediate reverse motor wiring on single phase operators. Positive chain driven, rotary type limit switches are provided to reduce full open and close travel of the door. The limit switch adjustment is not affected by the removal of the motor or by the manual operation of the door. A floor level manual disconnect chain is supplied for the emergency release and operation of the door. An electrical interlock switch is provided to disable the control circuit while the emergency release chain is engaged. The final drive chain is a #50 or larger roller chain.
