QUESTION: My garage door will not close and is stuck open. I have check everything possible that may cause this. Could this part be the answer? by Paul C 5/12/2014
ANSWER: My door was jammed in the UP position. The slider that rides on the rail was jammed hard against the bolt on the rail...I had to turn the motor shaft with channellocks to break it loose. I had two problems.......this sensor was bad....and the thin wire connected to the contact for the UP limit switch was broken. This wire bends every time the door moves, and after 17 years broke in two. by Joe U a

REPLY: Thanks Joseph but one more question. In order for the door to open you had to close it. How did you do that? The way I found out that it would open I manually turned the motor until the chain connector was about halfway closed and then I reconnected the door<br />and when I pressed the button it opened but then it would not close again. by Paul C r
REPLY: I also turned the motor by hand so it was about halfway down and it would go up and not down. The learn led was flashing 5 flashes by Joseph B r
