GENIE GUK-BX UNIVERSAL KEYPAD

Having trouble finding a keypad that works with your operator? The new GUK-BX Genie Universal Keypad is the most up to date universal keypad on the market. Available at North Shore Commercial Door, the Genie Universal Keypad works with almost all major brands on the market today. A list of compatible manufacturers can be found in a table below. Easy to use, and quick to program, the GUK-BX provides end-users with feedback when operating the keypad. LED lights flash with each correct button press, and audible tones can be heard to confirm the keypad is working. Installing the keypad is a breeze, simply use the provided screws to secure the keypad to the Frame of the garage and you’re done! Powered by two triple-A batteries (AAA), the 41249R features easy battery access with a slide off-panel in the bottom.

PROGRAMMING

The Genie Universal Keypad (Model Number 42149R) is compatible with units that program by learn button and by dip switches. To program the keypad by learn button we need to do the following steps:

1. Enter the pin you want to use on the keypad (3-8 Digits)
2. Press and release the UP/DOWN key to make the LED flash Slowly
3. Find the ID# of the opener from the chart and enter it on the keypad
4. Press the UP/DOWN arrow (LED flashes rapidly)
5. On the Opener press the Learn or program button for 2-3 seconds
6. Press the UP/DOWN arrow on the keypad every 2 seconds until the opener activates

If you have a Chamberlain/LiftMaster/Craftsman unit with a yellow learn button there are additional steps

1. With the LEDs still flashing on the keypad, press the LEARN or PROGRAM Button on the opener again for another 2-3 seconds
2. Press the UP/DOWN arrow on the keypad every 2 seconds until the opener activates

Programming dip switch units is a little different:

1. Look at your block of dip switches and determine whether they are Binary (2-Position) or Trinary (3-Position)
2. Copy down the position of your dip switches using the following code:
1. TRINARY DIP SWITCHES:
1. UP (+) POSITION - 1
2. NEUTRAL (0) POSITION - 2
3. DOWN (-) POSITION - 3
2. BINARY DIP SWITCHES:
1. UP (+) POSITION - 1
2. DOWN (-) POSITION - 2
3. Find and make note of the opener brand id (denoted by asterisks in the table below)
4. On the keypad, enter a pin (3-8 digits long)
5. Press and release the UP/DOWN arrow on the keypad (LED flashes slowly)
6. Enter the Id number for your operator information
7. Press and release the UP/DOWN arrow on the keypad again(LED flashes rapidly)
8. Enter the converted dip switch code written down earlier
9.
